5. Oppsett og installasjon

Proper installation is crucial for the efficient operation of your pond filter. Follow these steps carefully:

  1. Plassering: Position the filter on a stable, level surface near your pond. It can be partially buried for aesthetic purposes, ensuring the lid remains accessible for maintenance.
  2. Koble til vannpumpe: Connect a suitable water pump (not included) to the filter's inlet. Select an adapter size that matches your pump's outlet hose (3/4", 1", 1-1/4", or 1-1/2"). Ensure a secure, watertight connection.
  3. Connect Filtered Water Outlet: Connect a hose from the filter's main outlet back to your pond, ensuring the filtered water returns to the pond effectively.
  4. Connect Sewage Exit: Attach a hose to the sewage exit port. This hose will be used to direct dirty water away from the pond during backwashing. Ensure it leads to a suitable drainage area or garden bed.
  5. UV-C Lamp Forbindelse: Ensure the UV-C lamp is correctly seated within its quartz sleeve and connected to the power supply. The lamp is pre-installed but check for secure connections.
  6. Strømtilkobling: Once all water connections are secure, connect the filter's power cable to a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet is protected by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) for safety.

6. Bruksanvisning

6.1 Første oppstart

  1. After completing installation, ensure all connections are tight and leak-free.
  2. Turn on the water pump to allow water to flow into the filter. Check for any leaks.
  3. Plug in the filter's power cord to activate the UV-C lamp.
  4. Allow the filter to run continuously for optimal results. Initial water clarification may take 3-7 days depending on pond conditions.

6.2 UV-C Lamp Timerinnstillinger

UV-C lamp features three timing settings to optimize its lifespan and effectiveness:

Adjust the timer switch on the filter head to select the desired operating mode for the UV-C lamp.

7. Vedlikehold

Regular maintenance ensures the optimal performance and longevity of your VEVOR pond filter.

7.1 Backwashing (Sponge Cleaning)

The filter features a convenient backwash function to clean the filter sponges without disassembly. Perform backwashing when the turbidity indicator floats up, or regularly as needed (e.g., weekly or bi-weekly depending on pond load).

  1. Switch to Sewage Function: Rotate the main switch on the filter head to the "Sewage" position. This diverts the water flow to the sewage exit port.
  2. Operate Crank Handle: Turn the crank handle on top of the filter several times. This action agitates the filter sponges, dislodging accumulated debris.
  3. Monitor Discharge: Continue turning the crank until the water discharged from the sewage exit runs clear.
  4. Return to Filter Function: Once clean, rotate the main switch back to the "Filter" position to resume normal filtration.

7.2 UV-C Lamp og utskifting av kvartshylse

UV-C lamp has a limited lifespan (typically 8-12 months of continuous use) and should be replaced annually for optimal performance. The quartz sleeve should be cleaned periodically and replaced if damaged.

  1. Koble fra strømmen: ALWAYS disconnect the filter from the power supply before attempting to replace the UV-C lamp or clean the quartz sleeve.
  2. Open Filter Head: Carefully open the filter head according to the instructions provided in the full product manual (not included here).
  3. Fjern Lamp/Sleeve: Gently remove the old UV-C lamp and/or quartz sleeve. Handle the new lamp by its ends to avoid touching the glass.
  4. Clean/Install: Clean the quartz sleeve with a soft cloth and a mild cleaning solution if reusing. Install the new UV-C lamp and/or quartz sleeve, ensuring it is properly seated and sealed.
  5. Sett sammen igjen: Reassemble the filter head, ensuring all seals are correctly in place to prevent leaks.
  6. Koble til strøm igjen: Reconnect power and check for proper operation.

7.3 Filter Sponge Replacement

While backwashing cleans the sponges, they may eventually degrade and require replacement. Replace sponges when they show signs of wear or if backwashing no longer effectively cleans them.

  1. Koble fra strømmen: Disconnect the filter from the power supply.
  2. Open Filter: Open the filter housing to access the sponges.
  3. Fjern og erstatt: Remove the old sponges and insert new ones, ensuring they are correctly layered (coarse then fine).
  4. Sett sammen igjen: Close the filter housing securely.
  5. Koble til strøm igjen: Reconnect power and resume operation.
